Working towards a Victoria free from alcohol harms

What we're up against

Alcohol is an addictive, cancer-causing substance and a leading driver of family violence, suicide and fatal road crashes. Yet the alcohol industry continues to target children and vulnerable people with aggressive marketing that puts profit before public health.

We're working to change that.

Our focus areas

Alcohol harms are prevented and minimised

By strengthening laws and regulations to raise advertising standards, reduce high-risk alcohol consumption, and better protect Victorians, we can reduce alcohol harms and take pressure off stretched health and emergency services.

People experiencing alcohol harms receive the treatment and support they need and deserve

By investing in a sustainable and integrated service system, we can ensure the treatment and support people need and deserve is affordable, accessible, timely, and matches their level of need.

Policymakers understand and work to reduce the harms of alcohol on individuals, families and communities

By engaging with policymakers across all levels of government and and advocating for evidence-based policy in ways that centre lived experience and effectively counter industry messaging, we can build public and political will for change.
